Friday Funnies

These stories may only make Mara's mommy chuckle, but I'm going to share them anyway.  I know they will at least make Grandpa and Grandma smile because we all know that grandparents think just about ANYTHING a grandkid does or says is cute.

We got the pool out earlier this week for the first time.  We haven't been in a pool recently, so Mara probably didn't have any memory of being in a pool or understand the concept of hopping in to cool off on a hot day.  She was really irritated that I was making her change clothes into a swimsuit and that she had to put sunscreen on.  Once she saw the pool, her mood completely changed as she yelled, "Bath!"  She then asks, "Bubbles?" as she was trying to take off her swimsuit to hop into the "bath."  I tried to explain the "pool" concept to her.  She was really upset when she had to get out so we could go inside to make supper.  I told her she could go back out and play in the pool once her daddy got home.  When Lance walked in the door from work, she ran and greeted him with, "Bath!" and ran to go outside.  He was a little confused.

Mara has pooped in the potty chair five days in a row, but she refuses to wear big girl underwear or use the potty consistently throughout the day. But hey, if I only have to change wet diapers, HALLELUJAH! She now requests to be left alone with the door shut when going #2.  One morning she was sitting on the potty chair by herself, and she runs out of the bathroom yelling, "Nanas!" (bananas) I follow her back into the bathroom as she excitedly points to her poop yelling, "Nanas!" These bananas were definitely ripe enough to be made into banana bread!

Mara wanted to go outside one day, but it was raining.  I explained to her that we couldn't take Micah outside in the rain because he didn't want to get wet.  After she got up from her nap, she was happy to see that it wasn't raining.  She went to the window and asked, "Done?"  I confirmed that it was all done raining.  She rain to the patio door, looked out, and said, "Done!"  She then ran into the office and was astonished that it was done raining out that window, too.  It's definitely entertaining to watch her learn!
