Isn't summer just great?

 

Missing Daddy

Lance has been gone several nights for work the last couple of weeks.  Daddy withdrawal set in.  For ALL of us!

There were only 3 of us playing the game, but there were 4 game cards in play.  That's right, Daddy gets to play even when he's out of the state.

We're very thankful he's back home with us!

Blastball

3-year-old Blastball.....quite an experience.  Mara was not interested in the slightest in playing catch for more than 30 seconds or waiting patiently for her teammates to hit the ball.  Her response when we'd try to engage her in the game:  Running towards the infield, "Wanna make sand pies!"  And so she sat in the infield, making sand pies.  Sigh.  We do have some sports expectations for our kids.  Good thing she's only 3.  But I'm already preparing myself for a kiddo that may be more interested in something besides sports.  Today was our last day, and she was much more focused and interested.  There's still hope.

She hit the ball but didn't run.  Coach T and Daddy were trying to get her going.....

And she goes!  The base honked when stepped on, so she loved that of course!

 

Little brother was begging with tears to join Daddy on the field.  I can already see a much bigger love for sports with this kid.  Which I know is a typical boy thing.  The boys were much more engaged than the girls at Blastball.

She was probably the most excited about the t-shirt she got on her last day.

 

 

 

 

 



Father's Day

We have a busy Father's Day!  We headed to the zoo with my dad and family.

 Apparently she hasn't learned to be afraid of rats yet!

Grandpa M - You are the best Grandpa!  I love that there's never a boring or quiet moment when you're around!  Memories are made when you're involved, and that's what I love about you.  Thanks for being such a great role model for my dad.  Thanks for always taking time for our kids when we're home.  I love that my kids love you to pieces!

 

Dad - Thanks for all you do for our family.  Even in my 30's, I'm still very spoiled by you and Mom.  I love the bond you have with my kiddos.  I love to see the look on their faces when they hear we're headed to Papa's!  Thanks for loving our kids beyond measure. 

 

Lance - You are an amazing dad!  You are so patient with our kids.  You know how to make them both feel special and loved.  I really appreciate how hard you work for our family.  Our kids are very blessed to call you Daddy!

 

 

Timber

My parents are putting up a new shed at their house, so they had to clear a few trees.  I should say my DAD decided to clear almost an ENTIRE GROVE!  My mom wasn't too thrilled.  I have a few childhood memories in that grove, so it was a bit sad to see it go.

She trimmed all the "baby" right off.  He looks so grown up now!

World Pork Expo

The World Pork Expo.....a family tradition.  This year all the grand kids got to go! 

What's not to love when.....

You get to eat all the pork you want (cupcakes with bacon sprinkles, pulled pork sandwiches, pork loin, chocolate covered bacon, and more!).

Mara's favorite were the ribs.  This girl loves meat!

This momma goes for the live music.  But I'm thinking all the kids are going to become Expo band groupies!

The kids danced without stopping for almost two hours.  And when they got tired, they sat down on the dance floor and danced from there.
