Misc about Micah

I bought this boy Spiderman and Batman dress up clothes for his birthday, but he wanted nothing to do with them.  I guess Tinkerbell and purses are more his style.  Sometimes I hear, "Mommy, I want to be a princess!" several times a day.  I think this is normal for a boy with an older sister, right?  I haven't allowed him to paint his nails though.  He gets pretty upset when Mara reminds him, "Boys in our house don't paint their nails."  However, I tell him he can "help" us, so he enjoys using the blow dryer to dry Mara's nails for her.
So far, he's the only one in the house who LOVES coconut milk and almond milk.  He requests it at meals.  Sure wish the dairy free girl would acquire a taste for one them!

This kid's attention span and love for learning truly amazes me.  He sees big sister doing school, so of course he wants to join in.  It worked well for awhile because I could give him an age appropriate activity to do, and that would keep him busy for a long time.  Now he wants to do the EXACT thing Mara is doing which complicates things a bit.  When she's doing a worksheet, he has figured out that a coloring book or blank paper isn't the same.  One day he threw a fit when I handed him a marker board and markers when Mara was doing an activity with a sheet protector and dry erase markers.  I found some old matching sheets and put one in a sheet protector for him.  He went to town matching up the animals!  But it took like 20 seconds and he was ready for more!  I think he did like 10 worksheets before I finally just ended school because I didn't have anything left for them to do!  I used to be able to take a few minutes to organize some materials and activities each day for them to do, but I am actually to the point of creating lesson plans and organizing materials a week ahead of time for both of them now!  I do truly love it.  Too bad I don't feel called to homeschool at this point because I'd really enjoy it:)  Hopefully JR doesn't read this post or I'll never hear the end of it!
