We've been busy keeping track of the egg development on our chick chart.
We've been busy reading and learning about chickens.
I had never seen this Eve Bunting book before. Super cute! Not very many words but the illustrations tell the story.
On Day 7, we candled the eggs. Mara was trying out the homemade candler - without an egg of course! I'm not sure how many or if we will even see any chicks hatch. I couldn't find any pictures on the internet to match what we were seeing when we candled each egg. I did try candling an egg from the fridge, and it looked much different. So that's hopeful. Maybe I'll wait a few more days and try candling again.
Oh I so hope you get some babies!
