We've been tolerating the helmet for three months now. At two months, Micah's head was progressing well and had grown halfway to the goal. Our three month appointment wasn't as encouraging. His head had only grown 2 millimeters in total circumference in a month. We were told that he should hopefully have a growth spurt this month, and hopefully that would yield positive results for our next appointment in a month. I was hoping he would be discharged at 4 four months and it would be off for his first birthday, but I doubt that's going to happen. A little discouraging. In the mean time, I praise God for the progress so far.
I was concerned about the flat spot on the back towards the top, but the orthotics specialist said that's supposed to be there. There's a soft spot there just like on the top of the head. He said to check out a bald man's head. It's just not as noticeable with hair. He was right.
