Go Cyclones

We were cheering for the Cyclones on Saturday!  Ok, so Mara and I were probably cheering louder for Grandma Darcy's Cyclone sugar cookies.  Delicious!

The game wasn't very exciting, but a tea party sure was!

Harvest

My mom is in Italy, so we headed home for a couple of days to help Grandpa in the field (and to make sure he had food in the fridge and clean clothes to wear!).  He had a pile of dishes in the sink, so that meant he had been eating something at least.  He has a system for clean clothes.  He puts the clothes from the dryer into a clothes basket.  There's no need to fold them because he can just pick them up out of the basket when he needs some clean ones.  He also has a system for dishes.  There's no need to unload the clean dishwasher.  He just pulls out clean dishes when he needs them.  Even though he's surviving, I think he will be very happy when my mom returns this week!

She gets so excited to see the pigs.
Look closely.  Mara is running the tractor all by herself!

She's mad because she doesn't want to get out.
We kind of thought Grandpa was a little crazy to take 2 two-year-olds with him in the combine.
Before we left, Landon managed to trip and hit his head on the edge of a metal piece on the stairs.  It looked like his head was stuck there!  Amy peeled him off, and this giant goose egg popped out in about 5 seconds.  It literally grew before our eyes.  Poor guy.

Thankful Thursday

1.  3 day weekend
2.  Lance made breakfast two days in a row - Mara requested Daddy's breakfast Tuesday morning,  but he had to break it to her that he had to get ready for work.
3.  chiropractors - I highly dislike adjustments, but it feels nice to be able to move my neck again.
4.  laughter
5.  BBQ with friends
6.  nap
7.  my mom's safe arrival in Italy
8.  Craigslist - I bought a jogging stroller, used it for a year, and got my money back when I sold it.
9.  snuggling
10.  when my kids nap at the same time
11.  wagon rides with two kids - Maybe this a bonus for having our kids so close together.  Mara is still willing to ride, and Micah can finally stay upright.

Labor Day Weekend

We did lots of fun things over the three day weekend!
Go Cyclones!
climbed some trees

If you didn't notice, our kids are eating ice cream in their jammies.  If you read my post awhile back, I wrote about one of Lance's childhood memories - eating ice cream in Adel in his pajamas.
ate peas and loved them
had a picnic in the backyard
Look at my new wheels!

Feeding Frenzy

Mara loves to feed her little brother.
She has had a hard time lately going as quickly as he'd like her to!
This always results in a bigger mess for me to clean up, but it's worth it.
It's fun to watch them.

Are you sure you don't want any more?

Tropical Sno

We finally made it to the Tropical Sno in Adel.  We had wanted to go all summer but just finally got there.  We attempted to walk there, but it started sprinkling.  It continued to rain, so we hopped in the van and brought our cups back home.  I worked at Tropical Sno in high school, and my favorite was Very Berry so that's what I ordered.  Mara now asks for "opical sno" when she spots it on our morning walks.

Micah - 7 months

It seems like I just wrote Micah's 6 month post.  Oh, how quickly a month can go.
He has sprouted one tooth and is working on another.
He rolls around to get toys.  He is sitting up unassisted.  He loves solid foods.
He enjoys these two fingers especially when he gets tired.

Sometimes they're even better than food!
He can really smack these doors down fast!
I love that one tooth grin!
